Garrity Launches Veterans Coalition
Announces Policies To Support Pennsylvania Veterans
HARRISBURG, PA – Tuesday evening, State Treasurer and Republican nominee for Governor Stacy Garrity (R-PA) held a standing room only rally in New Cumberland, PA where she launched her campaign’s Veterans for Garrity coalition and announced her plans to deliver on behalf of Pennsylvania’s 700,000 Veterans.
The event was led by WHP580 radio personality RJ Harris, and she was joined by Veterans for Garrity coalition chairman Bob DeSousa. Also in attendance were Pennsylvania legislative and Veteran leaders, including state Senator Cris Dush (Veteran) and state representatives Scott Barger, Josh Bashline (Veteran), Sheryl Delozier, Barb Gleim, Zach Mako (Veteran), Abby Major (Veteran), Eric Nelson (Veteran), Tim O'Neal (Veteran), Donna Scheuren, Tim Twardzik, Andrea Verobish, Jamie Walsh, and Dane Watro (Veteran). In addition to the Harrisburg leaders in attendance, Lancaster County Commissioner Josh Parsons (Veteran), Cumberland County Commissioner Kelly Neiderer, and Cumberland County District Attorney Sean McCormack joined the event.
In addition to those who were able to join Garrity at the rally, leading Pennsylvania Veterans issued statements of support and will participate as honorary members of Veterans for Garrity:
“A decorated veteran with three tours of the Middle East, Stacy Garrity will stand up for our veterans the way she did for our country: with courage and honor. As a combat veteran, I can think of no other candidate as qualified to protect Pennsylvania’s 700,000 military veterans.”
– U.S. Senator Dave McCormick
“Stacy Garrity’s 30 years of military service make her uniquely qualified to understand the challenges faced by Pennsylvania’s Veterans, and enact forward-thinking, proactive policies and initiatives to support them. She understands the challenges of our Service Members face upon returning home and, unlike Josh Shapiro, Stacy Garrity will always prioritize their needs. Stacy Garrity led on her three deployments to the Middle East, leads again as Pennsylvania’s Treasurer, and I know she’ll lead on behalf of our Veterans and all Pennsylvanians as our next Governor.”
– Congressman Scott Perry
“Pennsylvania Veterans need and deserve a champion as our Commonwealth’s chief executive, and that leader is Stacy Garrity. Stacy provided our nation with decorated service for 30 years and through three deployments to the Middle East. As a fellow veteran of the Iraq War, I am confident she will provide Pennsylvania Veterans with that same committed service as our next Governor.”
– Congressman Guy Reschenthaler
“Stacy Garrity has proudly served our nation and commonwealth both in and out of uniform. In the Middle East, she distinguished herself and was decorated for her service. Now as Treasurer, she continues to give back to our commonwealth’s Veterans every day. As our next Governor, Stacy Garrity will continue that service and Pennsylvania’s Veterans will know they have an ally working on their behalf in Harrisburg.”
– PAGOP Chairman and State Senator Greg Rothman
Veterans for Garrity will be overseen by an Executive Committee, comprised of some of Pennsylvania’s most distinguished Veterans, including:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Julia Clark September 23, 2026 ICYMI: Senator McCormick Makes the Case for More Investment, Major Reform at NIH “At the most exciting moment in medical history, I fear we will surrender our lead to China through underinvestment and mismanagement.” WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA) today laid out his vision for strengthening American biomedical research, calling for greater investment in the National Institutes of Health alongside reforms to make federal research funding more merit-based, transparent, and accountable. In a Washington Post op-ed and remarks on the Senate Floor, Senator McCormick pointed to Pennsylvania as an example of what American investment in science can accomplish—from the world’s first personalized gene-editing treatment developed by researchers at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the University of Pennsylvania to groundbreaking cancer treatments and the growing use of artificial intelligence in medical research. Opinion | I’m a Republican senator. America needs more science, not less. By U.S. Senator Dave McCormick September 23, 2026 "Two years ago, KJ Muldoon was born with a rare, often fatal genetic disorder. Today he is walking and talking. How? Researchers at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the University of Pennsylvania, funded by the National Institutes of Health, saved his life with the world’s first personalized gene-editing therapy. CHOP is now seeking the next miracle cure at its new Morgan Center for Research and Innovation, which I visited last week. These breakthroughs are possible because NIH funds foundational science that saves lives and lowers the cost of disease. Federal research and private enterprise made American medicine the envy of the world, and artificial intelligence is accelerating discovery like never before. Yet at the most exciting moment in medical history, I fear the United States will surrender its lead to China through underinvestment and mismanagement. This summer, the White House rightly called for a new golden age of American science. Reaching it requires long overdue reform and more investment in federal research and development. Conservatives should recognize that basic research, like national security, is a public good that private capital rarely funds. Businesses excel at turning discoveries into products and jobs, but foundational science pays off too slowly and uncertainly. Government fills the gap, funding the long-term, high-risk work that businesses turn into breakthroughs with stunning payoffs for society. The federal government spends $7 trillion a year, yet less than 1 percent goes to NIH research. That sliver delivers outsize returns. NIH’s Diabetes Prevention Program, for example, cut Type 2 diabetes risk by 58 percent over a three-year period. NIH-supported eye-disease research saved $28.5 billion in health care costs over 10 years. Drug therapies also reduced legal blindness by 50 percent among people with wet macular degeneration, an eye disease caused by leaking blood vessels. And CAR-T cell therapy, pioneered at Penn with NIH support, reengineers patients’ T cells to attack cancer, producing decade-long remissions and replacing years of costly treatments. The list goes on. Nationally, every NIH dollar also generates roughly $2.50 in economic activity. In Pennsylvania, NIH research sustains over 21,000 jobs and generates an impact of more than $5 billion annually, and AI will accelerate breakthroughs. Earlier this year, for example, NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya and I saw how researchers in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are using it to detect cancer earlier, speed drug discovery and make surgery more precise. Yet America’s global leadership is slipping. China is closing the gap, having increased research and development spending from 36 percent of the U.S. level in 2008 to parity in 2024. Beijing now accounts for about one-third of the world’s clinical-stage drugs. Meanwhile, the U.S. is underinvesting in discovery. Federal R&D fell from 1.86 percent of gross domestic product in 1964 to 0.63 percent in 2024. Since 2003, the NIH budget has shrunk by more than 10 percent, adjusted for inflation. We have also let politics intrude on science. The NIH under the Biden administration gave CHOP $155,000 to develop training on “structural racism” and “intersectional microaggressions.” Such initiatives abused taxpayer money and undermined trust. Finally, NIH has become opaque and bureaucratic. Nearly 1 in 3 grant dollars goes to overhead, and taxpayers can’t easily see financial ties of researchers to industry. Each of these failures has a fix. First, rather than cut NIH by nearly 40 percent, as the Office of Management and Budget proposed last year, we should double its $48 billion budget within five years. These are big numbers, but if they yield discoveries that trim the nation’s $5.3 trillion health bill by just 1 percent, they will more than pay for themselves. Second, prioritize merit-based science. The Trump administration rightly reassessed grants lacking merit, and it canceled nearly 1,400 midstream, many over diversity, equity and inclusion language. While some of these grants deserved to be canceled, some were legitimate research with buzzwords inserted to get approval from the Biden administration. For half those grants alone, taxpayers had already paid nearly $1.3 billion for work that might never be finished. Rather than waste that investment, we should let researchers revise their applications and keep working. That is why I led five Senate Republican colleagues in urging the administration to do exactly that. Third, demand accountability. The NIH’s costly, noncompetitive overhead system should be replaced with one that rewards efficiency, makes institutions compete for infrastructure dollars and gives smaller research centers a fair shot. I will soon introduce the Sunshine for Researchers Act to require federally funded researchers to disclose significant financial connections to the business sector. And my bipartisan NIH Mentorship Modernization Act, introduced with Sen. Chris Coons (D-Delaware), would help retain young scientists, which is a priority for NIH. At this pivotal moment, incrementalism is the nation’s greatest enemy. America was built by pilgrims and pioneers who dared to push beyond the known. We must summon that spirit again by investing boldly, prioritizing science and reforming relentlessly. If we dare, KJ’s story can be the beginning of a new golden age of American science." Watch Senator McCormick's Senate Floor speech here . Senator McCormick spoke on the Senate Floor to lay out his case for NIH reform and investment, highlighting lifesaving medical breakthroughs developed in Pennsylvania, the economic impact of NIH-funded research, growing competition from China, and the need to eliminate waste and bureaucracy from the federal research system. “Federal research and private enterprise made American medicine the envy of the world, and AI is accelerating discovery like never before,” Senator McCormick said on the Senate Floor. “Yet at the most exciting moment in medical history, I fear we will surrender our lead to China through underinvestment and mismanagement.” “At this pivotal moment, incrementalism is our greatest enemy,” Senator McCormick said. “We must summon that spirit again by investing boldly, prioritizing science, and reforming relentlessly." While Rob Bresnahan was fighting to eliminate the Rain Tax, Paige Cognetti set off to Chicago this summer for a fundraiser hosted by Jon Carson , the man who bragged about authoring the Rain Tax executive order. Jon Carson, the chief of staff to the Obama White House Council on Environmental Quality from 2009 to 2010, spearheaded the creation of the executive order that created the Rain Tax mandate, and bragged about how easy it was to get it signed. While Rob Bresnahan was doing the work to get this unfunded mandate off the books, Paige Cognetti was raising money from the man who helped put it there. ROB BRESNAHAN: DELIVERED RELIEF FROM THE RAIN TAX Stood beside President Trump as he signed the executive order rescinding Obama-era Executive Order 13508, ending the federal mandate behind the Rain Tax. Fought to keep the Rain Tax front and center for the White House and EPA before he was even sworn into office. Organized and hosted an environmental roundtable in Swiftwater, PA, bringing EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to hear directly from local officials about the burden. PAIGE COGNETTI: STANDING WITH THOSE WHO FORCED THE RAIN TAX Appeared alongside Jon Carson, the former Obama White House Council on Environmental Quality chief of staff who spearheaded the Rain Tax mandate. Flew to Chicago on June 5th for a large fundraiser hosted by Carson, converting Obama-era Rain Tax politics into campaign cash. While Bresnahan worked to get the mandate rescinded, Cognetti has offered NEPA families no solutions while prioritizing Democrat Machine loyalty above all else. Rob Bresnahan did what others before him couldn’t, freeing NEPA families from an unfunded, decade-old mandate. Paige Cognetti is out raising money from the Obama officials who forced it on us in the first place. “For more than a decade, Northeastern Pennsylvanians have been stuck paying for a Chesapeake Bay cleanup over 200 miles away that hasn’t even worked. I was relentless about putting this in front of the President, and now the federal mandate is officially gone. While I was fighting to lower costs for my constituents, my opponent was fundraising with the very person responsible for the mandate. I told NEPA I would fight for them, and that’s exactly what I did. The next move is on Harrisburg.” - Congressman Rob Bresnahan Learn more at www.RobForPA.com .

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 14, 2026 Contact: Matthew Beynon – mbeynon@brabendercox.com ***PRESS RELEASE*** Elections Have Consequences What A Democrat Trifecta Would Mean For Pennsylvania HARRISBURG, PA – As the 2026 midterm elections hit the Fall campaign season, the Garrity for PA campaign wanted to take a quick look at what this year’s gubernatorial election means to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. From the start, Governor Josh Shapiro (D-PA) and his liberal Harrisburg allies have made it clear that their goal this November is to elect a Democrat “trifecta” in Harrisburg – where they would have total control of both chambers of the state legislature and the Governor’s mansion. It’s no secret why this is important to Josh Shapiro, who desperately wants to bolster his liberal resume to run for President, but what would this mean for hardworking Pennsylvania families? Here is a small sample of what Pennsylvania could expect if Democrats gain total control of Harrisburg: Increased Taxes, Higher Regulatory Burden, And A More Unaffordable Pennsylvania: Under Josh Shapiro, Pennsylvania families already face the 5 th highest tax burden in the nation and Pennsylvania businesses deal with 166,000 regulations that create a roadblock to growth. To plug the massive $5 billion budget hole he’s created, Josh Shapiro will be left with one option: raise taxes, leaving Pennsylvania families already struggling to make ends meet with even worse choices when the bills come due each month. Gerrymandered, Mid-Decade Congressional Redistricting: Everyone knows Josh Shapiro wants to run for President and if he wants to compete with liberal champions like Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA), what better way to appeal to national liberals than provide them with reinforcements in Congress. This means redrawing congressional districts and turning Pennsylvania from evenly divided into a deep blue congressional delegation that does not represent the Commonwealth’s values in Washington. Elimination of Girls’ High School Athletics: If Josh Shapiro had his way, biological boys would be allowed to compete in girls’ high school athletics. Josh Shapiro has already called anyone who opposes biological boys in girls’ sports “extremists,” and his new health regulations make it clear that his administration does not define genders according to science. It’s clear that he has no problem allowing girls’ athletics to be further eroded and taking opportunities away from them in a second term. Single-payer Healthcare: The liberal dream has always been a national single-payer healthcare system and Josh Shapiro could fulfill that dream by signing State Senator Nikil Saval’s proposal, which would create a state-administered, single-payer health system and a new “Office of Healthcare” to offer state-sponsored coverage to all Pennsylvanians without copays, deductibles, or caps. Gun Grabs: If there is a restriction on Second Amendment rights, Josh Shapiro is for it. Just two years ago, Shapiro was lauded by national gun control advocates for his efforts, and if given all the levers of power in Harrisburg for the first time in his career you are guaranteed to see him restrict gun rights in Pennsylvania – a state that has the second highest number of licensed hunters in the entire nation, trailing only Texas. On-demand, Taxpayer-funded Abortion: For all the questions Republican candidates receive about abortion exceptions, Josh Shapiro has never once answered the question of when abortion should be regulated. In fact, his administration has even refused to enforce the 40-year-old Pennsylvania Abortion Control Act that was passed by a bipartisan vote and administered by both Republican and Democrat governors. Next step for Shapiro is using Pennsylvania tax dollars to fund abortion anytime for any reason in the Commonwealth. We’ve already gotten a taste of what a second-term Shapiro-Davis Administration would look like with the release of their 502-page health code revision that made Governor Tom Wolf’s (D-PA) COVID-era restrictions look tame and are so extreme that they replace the terms “pregnant woman” with “pregnant individual.” Elections have consequences and this year that statement could not be more true. For Immediate Release: September 9, 2026 Contact: info@robforpa.com Dallas, TX - In case you missed it, Congressman Rob Bresnahan (R-PA-08) addressed the Republican Party's first-ever midterm convention in Dallas on Wednesday, highlighting his record of delivering tax relief for Northeastern Pennsylvania's workers and manufacturers ahead of November's midterm elections. Bresnahan, who ran and grew his family's electrical contracting business before coming to Congress, spoke about the overtime tax relief delivered through the Working Families Tax Cut Act and the need to rebuild America's manufacturing workforce through technical schools, apprenticeships, and union training programs. “Before I ever ran for Congress, I ran a family business. I made decisions that affected our workers, their families, and the future of our company. I know what communities like ours can do when they’re given a fair shot,” Rep. Bresnahan said. “In Northeastern Pennsylvania we work until the job is done and those extra hours should mean more money in your pocket,” he continued . “That’s why we delivered tax relief on overtime through the Working Families Tax Cut Act. That extra money reaches the diner down the street, the local grocery store, and the family buying their first home. That’s how you build communities where people can stay, raise a family, and build a life.” Bresnahan closed his remarks by introducing Nora Pruitt, a mother of seven from Maryland who he said works at a welding factory that is thriving because of the tax cuts. “I am proud to be standing here tonight with one of those workers, a mother from just across the border in Maryland,” Bresnahan said . “Nora Pruitt and her husband Jason have seven beautiful children. And she works at a welding factory in Baltimore that is thriving because of the Working Families Tax Cuts that Republicans passed and President Trump signed into law.” See his remarks here . Pittston, PA — Rob for PA today released two new TV ads, “Produce” and “Archbald,” highlighting Congressman Rob Bresnahan’s work in Congress to lower costs, support Northeastern Pennsylvania’s farmers, and keep decisions about local communities in local hands. “PRODUCE”: BRESNAHAN’S LOCAL FARMERS FEEDING OUR COMMUNITIES ACT WATCH “PRODUCE” HERE “Produce” highlights Bresnahan’s Local Farmers Feeding our Communities Act, bipartisan legislation included in this year’s Farm Bill (H.R. 7567) that connects local farmers directly with community food programs. The ad shows that paying farmers for their surplus produce means fresher food at a lower cost for NEPA families. “ARCHBALD”: BRESNAHAN’S LOCAL CONTROL PROTECTION ACT WATCH “ARCHBALD” HERE “Archbald” is named for the Lackawanna County borough that has fought off more proposed data center campuses than any other municipality in Pennsylvania. The ad highlights Bresnahan’s Local Control Protection Act (H.R. 9262), which requires local approval before a data center can be built and shields communities from being sued by billion-dollar developers when they say no. Together, “Produce” and “Archbald” underscore the same message: Rob Bresnahan is fighting in Washington for Northeastern Pennsylvania to ensure we lower costs, support our farmers who feed Northeastern Pennsylvania and support the communities working to protect their own backyards. In July, Townhall reported that Bob Brooks , the Democrat running for the House in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District, has a history of financial troubles. That report stems from suspicious donations sent to his campaign and ongoing litigation over property transferred to his current wife to avoid paying his former in-laws a $130,000 debt. But it seems that's not the only financial trouble Brooks has had. In fact, court records show multiple financial issues, including foreclosures, liens, and debt collections. On June 16, 2004, Blue Eagle Custom Builders, Inc. filed a lien naming Robert Brooks in Northampton County Court . That lien was released the same day. The reason for the lien's release is unclear. But in October 2005, Brooks filed a lawsuit against Blue Eagle Custom Builders , Inc. That case was disposed in 2007. In 2012, Wells Fargo filed a foreclosure against Brooks . That case was discontinued without prejudice in 2018. That same year, another lien was filed against Brooks, this time involving Midland Funding. That lien was in the amount of $5,480.84 . The case remains open, although the status is unclear, but a 2019 filing showed the court directed the sheriff to garnish Brooks' assets to satisfy this debt. A second judgment was entered against Brooks in 2012, this time involving a debt-collection case with FIA Card Services. That judgment was in the amount of $7,872.59 and reported as satisfied in 2024. U.S. Bank also filed a second foreclosure against Brooks in June 2016. That case was closed in December 2016. The $130,000 court-ordered judgment against Brooks isn't going away, either. The balance on that debt has now grown to over $162,000 while the lawsuit works its way through the courts. On August 5, a Northampton County judge ruled that the fraud lawsuit against Brooks — brought by his former in-laws — may proceed. Brooks continues to deny any wrongdoing in that case. But what's most concerning is Brooks' federal financial disclosures. His original 2025 disclosure failed to list that judgment on that disclosure. One of Brooks' Democrat opponents, Ryan Crosswell, called out Brooks for his falsified disclosure, specifically in relation to the $130,000 judgment. "Because he didn't include it in his previous disclosures, voters only learned about it when his mother-in-law filed a fraud lawsuit against him in February," Crosswell wrote. "Only then did his campaign admit they intentionally didn't disclose this debt in their House Ethics filing." Crosswell then linked to a piece in the Lehigh Valley News covering that lawsuit . Brooks also failed to list a pension that he bragged about having from his time as a firefighter with the city of Bethlehem. While that page is no longer accessible, Brooks said "I personally have a good pension from 20 years of working for the City of Bethlehem as a firefighter, but I'm one of the lucky ones. Every hardworking American, especially young people, should be afforded the opportunity to get a pension, and that starts by passing the PRO Act and giving everyone the chance to join a union." Divorce records also show Brooks had a 457 retirement account through the City of Bethlehem. With the election two months away and mail-in voting starting soon, Pennsylvania voters deserve to know what's going on with Brooks and his financial history. But Brooks wants to hide this from the public, and has — so far — refused to debate his Republican opponent, Rep. Ryan Mackenzie. Mackenzie has agreed to multiple debate opportunities in September so that voters can hear from both candidates on the issues. Brooks has either declined or ignored these opportunities. Instead, Brooks has agreed to a debate arrangement that would have part of the debate not air until just before Election Day. Is Brooks hiding from voters because he doesn't want to answer questions about his financial history, court proceedings, and financial disclosures? While Ryan Mackenzie is ready to debate, Brooks is delaying facing voters. And voters in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District deserve accountability, transparency, and the full story before they cast a single ballot. Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 28, 2026 Contact: Matthew Beynon – mbeynon@brabendercox.com ***PRESS RELEASE*** Garrity Comments On Tragic Lancaster County Deaths And Responds To Josh Shapiro’s Political Theater HARRISBURG, PA – State Treasurer and Republican nominee for Governor Stacy Garrity (R-PA) issued the following statement in response to Governor Josh Shapiro’s (D-PA) proposed public-health mandates and his irresponsible press conference following tragic deaths in Lancaster County. Stacy Garrity said: “Josh Shapiro recently proposed public health mandates that would make draconian COVID-era restrictions blush. Among other measures, his proposed regulatory scheme would allow his Department of Health henchmen to conduct warrantless searches of private property, access patients’ confidential medical records, and require schools to give those officials one-on-one, private access to students.” Shapiro took his irresponsible behavior to the next level on Tuesday when he prematurely held a press conference claiming that two deaths in Lancaster County were as a result of a measles outbreak. However, as reported by LNP , Shapiro’s press conference took the Lancaster County coroner by “surprise” because as of Thursday the coroner’s office still had zero measles deaths. “Earlier this week, he demonstrated just how dangerous his proposed mandates could be when he held a highly staged partisan press conference in Lancaster County to discuss the deaths of two Pennsylvanians, but became dismissive when questioned about the actual facts. Today, there are still more questions than answers, largely because Josh Shapiro refuses to share the relevant information – proving once again that he is the least transparent governor in modern Pennsylvania history. Lost amid Josh Shapiro’s political theater is the tragedy of two deaths, including that of a newborn who never had a chance to experience life. My heart aches for the families and friends mourning the loss of their loved ones, and they will remain in my prayers. If I were governor today, I’d be working closely with ALL Lancaster County and federal officials – regardless of political party – using facts, not fear, to inform the public and protect public health. I would certainly not be bickering with local and federal officials or acting like I can go it alone,” Garrity continued. Shapiro’s irresponsible press conference comes on the heels of outrage sparked over his proposed public-health mandates that have entered a public comment period. Serious concerns have been raised over the Shapiro Administration’s proposal and its potential infringement on privacy and individual liberties. “Josh Shapiro clearly hasn’t learned anything about sound public health policy, creating trust, or communications in the last six years – and it shows. He’s pretending to be a strong governor because he’s just not good at being a good governor. Authority over public health is too consequential to be concentrated in the hands of one person – especially someone so willing and eager to turn matters of life and death into partisan political theater. I urge Josh Shapiro to immediately withdraw his oppressive proposed regulatory overreach scheme and work with the legislature and others to protect both individual rights and public health. Pennsylvania voters rejected his dictatorial style of public health overreach during COVID, and they will do so again if necessary,” Garrity concluded. PAID FOR BY GARRITY FOR PA
