Bresnahan Campaign Releases Statement on PSEA Endorsement of Paige Cognetti SCRANTON, PA — The Bresnahan for Congress campaign today congratulated Paige Cognetti on earning the endorsement of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, an organization representing nearly 200,000 teachers and educators, including the 89 Scranton specialty program teachers Cognetti voted to lay off in December 2017 before abandoning her school board seat entirely just twelve months later. “We are truly in awe,” said Peter Brath, Bresnahan campaign spokesperson. “In December 2017, Paige Cognetti voted to pass a $157 million budget that laid off 89 teachers in specialty programs like art and music over the objections of parents, students, and the teachers union itself. Then, twelve months later, she resigned from the school board mid-term to take a political appointment in Harrisburg. Now that same union is endorsing her for Congress. We genuinely tip our cap.” PSEA President Aaron Chapin praised Cognetti for ensuring “educators and support professionals are respected and treated fairly.” Scranton parents who stood up at that December 2017 board meeting and begged the board not to cut their children's art and music teachers may remember it differently. “Congressman Bresnahan has never voted to cut a single teacher's job.” continued the Bresnahan campaign spokesperson. “He has never abandoned an elected post. And he isn't asking the people of Northeastern Pennsylvania to forget what he's actually done. Paige Cognetti is asking voters to do exactly that.” The Record November 2017: School board approves contract including 23 layoffs of maintenance and clerical workers, effective July 1, 2018 — before Cognetti's appointment but setting the context for the board she joined. December 2017: Cognetti votes unanimously with the board to pass the 2018 budget — over citizen and union opposition — including layoffs of 89 specialty program teachers and a $3.5 million deficit. (WNEP, 12/28/17) December 2018: Cognetti resigns from the school board mid-term to accept a political appointment as special assistant to Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale. This week, Josh Shapiro is starring in a TV ad. It's not an ad about fixing Pennsylvania’s problems. It's not an ad about lowering your costs. And it's not an ad about the multi-billion dollar deficit. A six-figure TV ad for his handpicked congressional candidate. That’s right — the Governor of Pennsylvania is personally recruiting candidates across the state, endorsing them, headlining their fundraisers, and now appearing in their campaign commercials. All to build a résumé for a presidential run in 2028. This isn’t speculation. Axios reported that Shapiro’s strategy is to “engineer a blowout” for Democrats in the midterms to prove he can deliver Pennsylvania — and use that as his ticket to the White House. Think about that for a second. He found the time and money for a TV commercial to help his political allies. But what has he done for you lately? ❌ Gas is over $4 a gallon ❌ Utility bills keep climbing ❌ The state’s deficit keeps growing No six-figure ad campaigns to address any of that. No urgency. No plan. Josh Shapiro isn’t governing. He’s campaigning — for a job he hasn’t told you he wants yet. Pennsylvania deserves a Governor who is focused on Pennsylvania, not Pennsylvania Avenue.

Congressman Mike Kelly endorses Stacy Garrity
February 6, 2026
PRESS RELEASE HARRISBURG – The Garrity for PA Campaign is proud to announce that it has received the endorsement of Congressman Mike Kelly (PA-16). Congressman Mike Kelly said: “I am proud to endorse Stacy Garrity to be Pennsylvania’s next Governor. Stacy served our nation in uniform with honor and our Commonwealth with distinction as our state treasurer. I am confident that Stacy will return fiscal sanity to Harrisburg, fight for taxpayers and businesses that have been burdened by Josh Shapiro’s bureaucracy and be the partner our congressional delegation needs to turn Pennsylvania around. I am looking forward to working with Stacy and her campaign in the weeks and months to come, to defeat Josh Shapiro this November, and once again make Pennsylvania a leader nationally.” Stacy Garrity said upon receiving Congressman Kelly’s endorsement: “I am honored to receive Congressman Kelly’s endorsement. Mike Kelly has been an outstanding western Pennsylvania business and community leader. As a small business owner Mike knows the importance of signing both sides of the paycheck and he has taken that experience with him to Congress to fight for the blue-collar western Pennsylvania values that make our Commonwealth unique. I am looking forward to working with Mike in the weeks and months to come, to defeat Josh Shapiro, and turn Pennsylvania around.” Congressman Mike Kelly has been a standout western Pennsylvania leader for more than three decades. From his time on the gridiron at the University of Notre Dame to his business and civic leadership in the greater Butler community, Mike Kelly has employed and mentored hundreds of western Pennsylvanians. In Congress, Mike Kelly has been an effective voice for small businesses and taxpayers as a member of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee since 2011. PAID FOR BY GARRITY FOR PA
Stroudsburg Borough Municipal Building
January 14, 2026
Residents of Stroudsburg are coming together to call for greater transparency and accountability in local government through a newly updated public petition. The petition asks for an independent review of recent events and governance practices that have raised questions under Pennsylvania’s Borough Code and the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act. Since the petition began, concerns have been raised regarding potential conflicts of interest, incompatible offices, revolving-door employment, and the handling of election-related matters. In particular, attention has focused on the sequence of events involving the Mayor being sworn in, subsequently resigning, and then accepting a paid Borough position, as well as publicly circulated audio that references election-related decision-making. While no conclusions have been made, many residents believe these circumstances merit careful review to ensure public trust is protected. The petition serves as a way for community members to respectfully express their desire for ethical governance and clear, lawful processes. It also emphasizes the importance of open dialogue, transparency, and public participation in Borough affairs. If you are a Stroudsburg Borough resident or someone who cares about the integrity of local government, you can read the full petition and add your name here: https://www.change.org/p/petition-update-transparency-and-ethics-concerns-in-stroudsburg-borough Community members are also encouraged to attend the next public Borough meeting: Tuesday, January 20, 2026 7:00 PM 700 Sarah Street, Stroudsburg, PA Public meetings are an important forum for residents to ask questions, stay informed, and engage in the democratic process. Continued civic participation helps ensure local government remains accountable to the people it serves.
